Boston has it's man.
JD has his new cap.
Scott Boras has his new watch.
Same story, different name. Late Monday night evening, Boston inked all-star slugger JD Martinez to a $110m/5yr contract as first reported by MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi (@jonmorosi). Martinez, 30 played 57 games in 2017 for the Detroit Tigers and 62 for the Arizona Diamondbacks batting a collective .303 with 45 home runs in the process.
The addition provides some much needed power to a Boston line up in dire need of it. The Red Sox finished dead last in the American League in home runs in 2017, for the first time since 1930.
Last night Four-Bases', Joel broke down the move in the return of the highly listened to podcast- Call to the Bullpen.
